500kva 33kv Transformer Installed And Operated In Burundi
Recently, TSTY received feedback on transformer installation and operation from a Burundi customer. After receiving TSTY's 500kva 33kv transformer, the customer successfully installed the transformer and operated it according to TSTY's technical guidance. The successful operation of this transformer has brought a stable power system to this water treatment plant in Burundi.
Overview of Burundi transformer installation
The Burundi power grid is mainly composed of 110kV backbone network + 30kV distribution network (Note: the country's old name "30kV" is actually the internationally common 33kV level).
1. Altitude adaptation: The factory is located in an area with an altitude of more than 1,500 meters. The high altitude causes the air insulation strength to decrease. The team selected a reinforced 33kV/0.4kV oil-immersed transformer to expand the safety distance by 15%.
2. Lightning protection: The local average annual thunderstorm days reach 120 days. A composite lightning arrester group is added to the neutral point of the transformer, and the impulse withstand voltage value is increased to 170kV.
3. Voltage fluctuation: The power grid fluctuation range is ±15%. Equipped with an on-load voltage regulator (OLTC), ±8% dynamic voltage stabilization is achieved to ensure the smooth operation of the pump motor.
Key data after a few months of operation:
Water supply stability: from an average of 4 hours per day to 24 hours uninterrupted;
Energy consumption optimization: transformer load loss is only 78kW (national standard I energy efficiency);
Emergency capability: successfully resisted 3 power grid collapse events.
Today, tsty transformers provide stable voltage for this water treatment plant, ensuring stable water supply in the area. TSTY's transformers have been exported to more than 80 countries and regions in the world, with a wealth of project installations.
